Ian Linley from Peebles owns this delightful MGTD and the TD was the first production MG to have rack and pinion steering and hydraulic twin leading shoe front brakes, which today make it a useable classic.
The MK11 version of the TD was an uprated version of the standard car incorporating improvements in both the engine and suspension. These were primarily aimed at the competition used and included larger carbs, big value head with increased compression ratio, twin fuel pumps and lines, an additional set of 'friction shock absorbers'
In total between 1949 and 1953, 29,664 TD's were built but only 1710 were to Mark 11 specification and of those 1668 were exported and so Ian's car is a rare one indeed
