| | Now here's an interesting car. Cecil Lawrence of Stornoway bought his first Bentley, a Mark V from my father in 1953, I think, and followed it with an S1, registration number 4ERF, in about 1958. In 1965 father delivered this S3 which he had bought from his old friend Sidney Robbins of Putney and it had been fitted by it's first owner with extra driving lights and parking lights. Mr Lawrence had the only Bentley on the Hebrides and it tested the ferry, Loch Seaforth, getting it craned up on his regular mainland trips. This brings back family memories. Here it is pictured in Leverburgh, Isle of Harris outside what was to become the Obbe Stores. |
