| | | My grandfather supplied this car new in 1938 to two sisters who, I think, stayed in Sutherland - north Scotland. My father took it back in 1965 when he supplied them with a new Austin 1100. The Railton had a standard side valve engine and was a three seater with the rear seat facing sideways. At home, my father introduced my brother Sid and I to mechanics as we started the long restoration of this natty little car. Eventually we completed the coachworks and we brought the car to Peebles where it had a degree of nusiance value since we were short of covered space. Around 1983 we stupidly sold EXK227 and all we have now are some photographs. |
