| | "Ian Linley from Peebles owns this delightful MG TD and the TD was the first production MG to have rack and pinion steering and hydraulic twin leading shoe front brakes which today make it a useable classic.
The Mk II version of the TD was an uprated version of the standard car incorporating improvements in both the engine and suspension. These were primarily aimed at the competition used and included larger carbs, big valve head with increased compression ratio, twin fuel pumps and lines, an additional set of ""friction shock absorbers""
In total between 1949 and 1953 29,664 TDs were built but only 1710 were to mark II specification and of those 1668 were exported and so Ian's car is a rare one indeed." |
