| | Thankfully our recent winters haven't been as severe as this picture shows. We had to dig ourselves out and the snow lay piled and rutted for a few weeks at a time.
Added to that our cars didn't start so easily in extreme cold and often diesel fuel didn't have 'antifreeze' additives. We recommended a couple of gallons of petrol in six or so gallons of diesel to prevent it 'icing' up. No ABS brakes either and most cars didn't have power steering.
Glad things have moved on.> |
