| | The story goes that when my grandfather moved from his workshop at Comely Bank to Devon Place in 1929 there was a young man waiting to start work. Apparently Bob Wilson had finished on Friday working for the Argyll Motor Company and they had closed their workshop in Devon Place and he turned up on the Monday morning hoping to get a start with the new owner.
"You'd better come in then" said my grandfather and Bob Wilson satyed with us beyond retiring age in 1967. This photograph, which I recently found whilst searching through some old stuff, shows Bob boring out the cylinders of a pre-war car - can anybody help with what make it is? |
